Dr Gareth Davies
Role: Chair of the Trustees and Medical Director Joined: 1993
Gareth studied medicine at Sheffield University and is a consultant with extensive experience in pre-hospital care. He specialises in pre-hospital trauma care. Based at the Royal London Hospital (home of London’s Air Ambulance), he is also responsible for the education and training of staff including doctors and paramedics.
Gareth has developed innovative surgical procedures and processes for anaesthesia for trauma victims and has been the lead consultant at many of London’s major incidents, including the Paddington Rail Disaster and the 7/7 Bombings.
He became a Trustee and Chair of the London’s Air Ambulance Charity in 2006 and is also a director of EMSC, a company formed to provide clinical governance to a number of UK Air Ambulances.

Dr Anne Weaver
Role: Trustee and Lead Clinician Joined: 2005
Anne is Lead Clinician with London's Air Ambulance and has been a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Pre-hospital Care at the Barts and the London NHS Trust since 2004. She is responsible for the day to day running of the service. Anne graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Medicine in 1995.
Anne has had extensive experience in trauma care, both in the UK and Australia, and has an interest in the ethics of trauma resuscitation.

Professor David Lockey
Role: Trustee and Research & Development Lead Joined: 1997
David grew up in London and then went to medical school in Newcastle upon Tyne. After qualifying he trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine in the UK and abroad. He became a consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Frenchay Hospital in 2001.
He first worked as a doctor for usin 1997 and has been a Consultant in Pre-hospital Care since 2000. In August 2011, Dr Lockey became the first UK Professor in Pre-hospital Care. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bristol University, Honorary Consultant in Pre-hospital Care for four air ambulances, Trauma Lead for his trust and a consultant in the British Army.
He has been a Trustee since 2006 and leads on pre-hospital research and projects. He is also a director of EMSC, a company formed to provide clinical governance to a number of UK Air Ambulances.

Paul Lavender
Role: Trustee Joined: 2009 Paul Lavender is a chartered accountant with a wide range of financial and commercial experience of private and public companies. Paul is currently Group Finance Director for AIM quoted LitComp Plc – a group of companies which includes Elite Business Development Limited, Elite Litigation Services and Elite Insurance Company Limited. In 2002 he worked on the initial Ofex flotation of LitComp in 2002 and its subsequent move to AIM in 2006. He has also been involved in fundraising for LitComp. He is also currently a Director of United Bright Bar Co Limited, a family concern which produces bright drawn steel. Mr Lavender qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978 and has an Institute of Chartered Accountants Corporate Finance qualification.

Maxine Barnes
Role: Trustee Joined: 2008
Maxine founded Bishopsgate Communications in 1999 having spent over 10 years advising UK companies on their business and financial communications. She has extensive experience in the London market and a strong understanding of City transactions and strategic communications.
Maxine has a demonstrable track record advising the ‘Growth Company’ arena and has been responsible for advising on numerous IPOs, particularly on AIM. Maxine began her career in Naval and Military communications before moving into Financial PR and has since built up a strong portfolio of clients operating in a wide range of sectors. Maxine is well-known and respected throughout the City and has an excellent list of contacts in the UK market.

Michael Weiss
Role: Trustee Joined: 2009 Michael is the Head of Investec’s Aviation team. He is an Aeronautical Engineer, and has over 18 years experience in aircraft finance with banks such as Swiss Bank Corporation and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group in both London and Singapore. He joined Investec in London in 2002 and has been instrumental in driving Investec’s aviation strategy, and building the bank’s aircraft financing franchise to one which is now recognised as a leading player in the aircraft financing sector. Michael has extensive experience in all forms of aircraft finance such as senior secured debt, export credit supported financings, tax advantaged leases, mezzanine debt and equity investments in aircraft, and is CEO of the Investec Global Aircraft Fund. He has established strong contacts with manufacturers, airlines, banks and leasing companies.
