Financial Ombudsman Service Chooses London's Air Ambulance as Charity Partner

Friday 26th May 2017

The Financial Ombudsman Service, the UK’s official expert in dealing with complaints about financial services, has chosen to support us as their charity partner for the next two years.

The Giving Something Back Committee led the selection process, having to choose one partner from over 200 charities nominated by members of staff. The committee will now manage a full calendar of charity events over the next two years, including organised sporting events, a sponsored fast during Ramadan, carol singing and raffles, in order to raise much needed funds to support the life-saving service London’s Air Ambulance delivers across London.

Wednesday 24th May marked the launch of the partnership with a Lunch and Learn event attended by employees. Alex Grant, a volunteer speaker for our charity, gave an introductory talk to inspire staff and inform them about the treatment we deliver to critically injured people every day. This will be the first of many opportunities throughout the two year partnership to engage and motivate employees.

David Cresswell, Head of Strategy at The Financial Ombudsman, said:

"We're absolutely delighted to have London’s Air Ambulance as our new charity partner. Everyone here at the ombudsman service has been involved in deciding how we'll be focusing our fundraising and charitable support over the next two years - this is something we do really thoughtfully and enthusiastically. So now, with the helpful, energetic steer of our terrific Giving Something Back volunteers, we're a hundred percent ready and committed to making this relationship fruitful, fantastic and fun."

Jonathan Jenkins, CEO at London’s Air Ambulance, said:

“On behalf of everyone at London’s Air Ambulance, I would like to say a genuine thank you to the staff at The Financial Ombudsman Service for choosing us as their charity partner. We are humbled to have been selected as a cause close to their hearts. It is the passion, energy and dedication of our supporters that keep us operational and we are thrilled to welcome the Financial Ombudsman Service into the London’s Air Ambulance community.”
