Paramedic


Richard Joined the LAS in 1998 and has spent the last eight years as Motorcycle Paramedic in Central London, Richard is also partially deaf and wears hearing aids, after learning British Sign Language (BSL) Richard also does deaf outreach work teaching Basic Life Support in BSL and visiting deaf schools as a professional deaf role model.

"When I joined the LAS it was my ambition to become a motorcycle paramedic and an advanced trauma paramedic, I have never let my disability hold me back from fulfilling my ambitions and I am privileged to have achieved both and have the opportunity working for the world's leading pre-hospital trauma service." says Richard. 

In his spare time Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children as well as playing guitar, cooking, cycling and riding his Café Racer motorbike.
