London’s Air Ambulance is an independent  self-governing charity, largely funded through charitable donations and grants. Whilst we are not directly commissioned by the NHS we do receive some financial support through our long standing association with The Royal London Hospital, and further benefit in kind through the payment of clincial salaries by Barts Health NHS Trust and the London Ambulance Service.
All our other operating and delivery costs including the helicopter, the car fleet, our pilots, fire-crew, and the business infrastructure are covered by the charity. Through a diversified portfolio of income generating strategies, we are committed to achieving long term financial sustainability to allow us to shape the strategic direction of our service.
