Channel 5: Trauma Doctors 2
Sunday 11th May 2014
Channel 5's 'Trauma Doctors: Every Second Counts' returns for a second series on Thursday 15th May at 9pm, featuring London’s Air Ambulance and The Royal London Hospital.
Doctor and paramedic teams were filmed from October to December 2013 during helicopter shifts by day and fast response car by night. Filming also took place with the Physician Response Unit, the senior doctor and paramedic team that responds to medical emergencies including patients in cardiac arrest.
The programmes provides an insight into the thought processes and decision making that takes place when our doctors are treating seriously injured or complex medical patients. Viewers will be 'inside the heads' of the doctors as they make critical, split second decisions.
There are six one-hour episodes in the series that will broadcast on consecutive Thursday evenings at 9pm with the exception of Thursday 5th June.
The first series was broadcast in 2013 and proved very popular with the launch episode attracting around 1.9 million viewers. Throughout the run of the whole first series, a total of 5.4 million people tuned into the show.
