Lucky Biggin Hill lottery winner visits helipad
Friday 8th April 2016
Earlier this week we welcomed charity lottery winner Rebecca Teather from Biggin Hill to our helipad.
Rebecca scooped the top prize of £1,000 in our weekly lottery, which raises vital funds each year for the charity. She is one of the 45,000 hopefuls across London who donate to us to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.
Draws are made weekly, and each entry costs £1 per week. Players can win £10, £50 or £1,000. There have been over 2,000 winners since our lottery started in 2007. Top prize winners are also given the opportunity to take in the London skyline from the roof of The Royal London Hospital, where our helipad is based.
Rebecca was accompanied to the London’s Air Ambulance helipad with her husband Steve and two daughters Lauren and Katherine. She said: “My dad had an accident once, he fell off his garage roof and thankfully was treated by London's Air Ambulance, so when I saw the charity’s lottery canvassers at my local supermarket, I instantly signed up. Not many people know that London’s Air Ambulance is a charity that needs help with funding from the general public.
Rebecca added: “It was an insightful visit, and I enjoyed seeing the wonderful view from the helipad across London.”
Mark Davies, Director of Development from London’s Air Ambulance said: “Our lottery members generate vital funds that help us provide patients with the best possible care when they urgently need it. Every second counts in an emergency, as does every donation. We are hugely grateful to our lottery members for their support.”
By taking part in our London's Air Ambulance lottery, you too could be a winner one day.
