Golf Day raises £6,000

Friday 15th July 2016

Despite the rainy weather, the participants of our annual Golf Day at the Foxhills Club & Resort in Surrey enjoyed the fourball and raised more than £6,000 for the charity. The tournament itself was won by the team from the law firm Ashurt with 75 points. Some fantastic prizes, including a Silverstone Formula 1 Test Day for two and an Arsenal signed football, were auctioned.

"All participants enjoyed the day, especially the manicured Bernard Hunt Golf Course." said the event organiser Brian Donnachie.

The sponsors of the event were long-term supporter Santander together with O'Donovan Waste Disposal and Gerolsteiner Mineral Water, who supplied the drinks on the day.

"I have personally been involved since the first London's Air Ambulance Golf day in 2005 where the emphasis has always been on making the event a fun day out. The auctioneer Gary Burt has been a long term supporter of the cause and did a sterling effort getting people to open their wallets at the after dinner event," said Brian.

“In the past eleven years it has been a pleasure to come to Foxhills for our annual Golf Challenge as they provide first-rate facilities and always make us feel very welcome” said Christine Margetts, Community Development Manager at London's Air Ambulance.

The event’s special guest was Les Strong, former footballer who played over 300 matches for Fulham FC. Les talked about his experience as a professional footballer and presented the prizes to the winners.
