Healthy competition to raise funds for our charity
Wednesday 2nd November 2016
Fitness fans are being invited to take part in an exercise challenge to raise money for London’s Air Ambulance.
Health and fitness company Speedflex is organising a 12-hour high intensity, low impact fitness class on the 17th of November. Participants can drop in and out of the session at any time.
Those taking part at Speedflex London will be monitored and win points - called MYZONE points - based on how hard they train. The aim is to get more points than other Speedflex centres around the UK.
James Stevens, Speedflex London manager, said:
“The World Health Organisation guidelines for weekly exercise translates to 300 MYZONE points per week, we are hoping participants will hit the 300 point target within the 12 hour event to help us up our total.
“We’re calling on anyone and everyone to help us take the title and raise money, from existing customers and members to people who have never tried Speedflex before.
“We’re hoping it will be a great day for all involved, we will be in regular contact with the other centres to keep on top of who’s in the lead and will have refreshments and a DJ on site to keep people motivated. If you want to participate all you need to do is complete an induction which is free of charge.”
When it comes to fundraising, there are two options for those taking part: they can choose to raise sponsorship for hitting the 300 point target, or donate £20 which will go directly to London’s Air Ambulance.
Charles Newitt, interim CEO of London’s Air Ambulance, said:
“We are delighted Speedflex is organising this fitness challenge to raise money for the charity. Thank you and good luck to everyone taking part in the event for London’s Air Ambulance.
“All the donations and sponsorship raised help to ensure our advanced trauma teams can deliver life-saving treatment to our patients on the streets of London 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
