Lucky father & son visit helipad after £1,000 win in lottery draw
Thursday 8th February 2018
We were delighted to welcome Woodford Green resident Peter Farrier to our helipad last week after he won the top prize of £1,000 in our lottery.
Peter was encouraged to sign up to the weekly draw after speaking to our charity’s face to face fundraisers. He visited our service’s helipad base at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel to collect his winnings and learn more about our work. He was joined by his son David for the visit, who has supported our charity since his uncle was saved by our advanced trauma team.
Our charity relies on fundraising to operate our service, which costs £10 million to run each year. The lottery is a vital source of regular income. Each entry costs £1 and gives players the chance to win £1,000 every week. Top prize winners are also invited to our helipad at The Royal London Hospital, where they can take in the view of the city skyline.
Speaking about their visit Peter said:
“It was fantastic to meet with some of the crew and learn more about the charity, the highlight was seeing the air ambulance up close.”
Mark Davies, Director of Development at London’s Air Ambulance said:
“Every second counts in an emergency, as does every donation. Lottery members like Peter & David generate vital funds that help us provide patients with the best possible care when they need it most. We are hugely grateful to everyone who takes part for their support.”
