Winner of Christmas card competition announced
Monday 3rd December 2018
Back in October, we asked London’s young artists to get creative and design a new Christmas card for our charity. After a difficult judging process by our expert panel, we are pleased to announce that the winner was Luna, aged 4 and a ½.
Luna was inspired to enter the competition by her grandmother Shirley, who is one of our charity’s longest-serving volunteers. Shirley has been volunteering with us for four years, and is often found serving London with a smile in our charity’s shop.
Luna told us that she has drawn, ‘Father Christmas, Lady Christmas, and the red helicopter that helps people who are hurt.’
Tasked with the near-impossible task of choosing between the entries was a group of pilots, doctors, paramedics and fire crew from our charity. After much deliberation, Luna was selected as the eventual winner, with Jamie aged 7’s entry given second place in the contest and many more recognised as highly commended.
Luna’s entry will be sent by the London’s Air Ambulance team to some of our supporters, ex-patients and those our charity works closely with.
Mark Davies, London’s Air Ambulance Director of Development, said: “Thank you to all our wonderful young supporters who entered this year’s competition. The whole team were impressed by the high standard of entries and are looking forward to using Luna’s card this Christmas.”
