It costs approximately £10 million a year to run our service, ensuring advanced trauma care can be provided to critically injured people in London, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are a UK registered charity and rely on voluntary support, from trusts and foundations, companies, community groups and individuals to continue saving lives.

We are incredibly humbled to have so many passionate, dedicated and generous supporters helping to make our work possible. We want to inspire more people to support us regularly; both face to face and telephone fundraising give us the opportunity to talk directly to people, to let them know about our work and how they can be part of it. 

Face to face fundraising

We carry out face to face fundraising in privates sites, such as shopping centres, and also have fundraisers who go door to door. We encourage people to become regular supporters either by playing our weekly lottery or by signing up to a monthly donation. These regular gifts are incredibly valuable to us as they provide sustainable and unrestricted income, which helps us plan and deliver the service we provide with a greater degree of confidence. Face to face fundraising is also a great way for us to raise awareness of our work out in the community.     

Telephone fundraising

We use telephone fundraising to communicate with existing supporters, we never make cold calls. We call supporters to thank them for their donation and to find out if they would like to continue to support our life-saving work with a regular donation. Examples of our telephone fundraising campaigns are reaching out to people who supported with text donations following our Trauma Doctors TV documentary or contacting previous donors to give them the option of becoming regular supporters.

FAQs

Who has called me?

We partner with Unity4 Ltd. to support our fundraising efforts. You may get a call from Unity4 on telephone number 0203553401. Unity4 call on our behalf and help us to provide the best supporter experience. Unity4 will always identify who they are and the purpose of the call. The call may be administrative and relate to a recent set-up of a Direct Debit or may relate to an existing charity Lottery membership. We tend to make these calls between 10.00am-7.00pm. If Unity4 cannot get through to a supporter they will try again but no more than once a day. If you have received a call from the above number but would rather not receive further calls from Unity4, you can opt out at any time, either by calling the number back and following the instructions given, or by contacting Supporter Care on supportercare@londonsairambulance.co.uk or 020 3023 3319, 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday.

How can I tell if a London's Air Ambulance fundraiser is genuine?

We have an in house team of face to face fundraiser and we also work with Tower Engage People and Gemini Fundraising, two specialist face to face agencies who help us carry out our fundraising. All our fundraisers carry photo ID. We have a copy of their photo along with the areas they cover, but you can also contact our office to confirm their identity.
