volunteers support our first 'city bounce' event
On 10th March, twenty six teams took part in our first ever ‘City Bounce’ bubble football tournament at Play on Sports Arena in Whitechapel. Raising a total of £15,000, the funds will help us save more lives in London. The event was supported by ten of our volunteers who helped to ensure that the participants had fun and played safely! Our volunteers assisted with briefing the participants, helping them in and out of their inflatable zorbs and keeping track of scores. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that helped on the night - we couldn't have done it without you!
Our new volunteer photographer Alex said ‘I really enjoyed my first volunteering experience at City Bounce. It is great to be a part of such a friendly and welcoming team.’
all aboard the woolwich ferry!
We would like to thank all the volunteers who recently participated in the Woolwich Ferry Collection. Armed with our London’s Air Ambulance red buckets and endless enthusiasm, our team of 7 volunteers braved the British weather which included sun, rain and even hailstones as they helped to raise a fantastic £772!
Our volunteer Angela told us ‘My first collection for London's Air Ambulance was such a brilliant experience - despite the very cold weather and hailstones! It was invaluable to be collecting alongside an ex-patient, as it reinforced why I am volunteering for London's Air Ambulance, which is such a crucial service for London.’
We regularly collect on board the ferry with our next dates taking place in June. If you are interested in helping please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Spotlight on….. Fundraising Collectors
We offer a number of ways that volunteers can get involved with London's Air Ambulance and one of the most important ways that we can engage with the local community is through our fundraising collections. These collections not only help us to raise the vital funds that we need but also act as a way of keeping in touch with Londoners and promoting the work that we do.
We are regularly allocated collections in a variety of locations including supermarkets, train stations, and at local community events. We rely on our fantastic volunteers to assist us at these collections and this enables us to reach all four corners of London.
Our collections offer volunteers the opportunity to become a representative of London's Air Ambulance and talk to members of the public about what we do. You will meet new people, raise money and have fun! Volunteers often tell us that the most rewarding thing about helping in the community is getting the opportunity to speak to members of the public who feel so passionately about our work and often they meet those who have been personally affected by the charity.
As a collections volunteer you will become an ambassador for the charity and the money you raise will make a direct contribution towards the running of the charity. So if you have a few hours to spare and would like to get involved please contact email@example.com or call 020 323 3300.
